This original unique painting has been hand-painted by British artist Sarah Louise Ewing. The surface for the painting is an original pressed vinyl LP of the album ‘Grimspound’ released by the prog rock band Big Big Train in 2017.
This original pressing is from a batch containing a fault, meaning it could not be sold, so Sarah seized on the opportunity to use the vinyl as a surface for some of her original artwork.
Sarah is well known for the artwork on several EP’s and album covers for the band as well as logo’s, motifs and merchandise.
The printed image from the album cover is clearly visible on the reverse of the artwork through a purposeful aperture in the back of the frame, designed to let you see the detail of the vinyl press.
