John and I first met Alexander Millar as collectors, having purchased one of his
limited edition prints for our wedding anniversary.
Our love for his work grew and when we opened the Acorn Gallery it was an instinctive decision to include Alex’s work in the display.
Alexander Millar’s reputation for capturing the humour and yet the staunch reliability of the much-loved working class has found him collectors around the world, not only in those who see a much loved family member in his capped gadgies but also those who understand the strong family connections which are very apparent in his works.
Having had exhibitions all across the UK, Alex has now spread his wings with his latest exhibition having taken place in New York celebrating the work of the cities Fire Department.
Alexander Millar’s original paintings feature in many private collections. It is not uncommon for collectors to have several of Alex’s paintings in their collections.
