Artist Rayford Painting live at York Racecourse for The Acorn Gallery, Pocklington
York artist Rayford knows the city like the back of his hand. He has walked its streets, sketched its buildings and admired its skylines for many years, bringing its multi-layered history to life in his quirky paintings.
Originally born in Wigan, Rayford has lived in York for most of his life and considers the city his home.  Rayfords love of art grew whilst studying industrial design at university, where he found it to be his overwhelming passion in his spare time.

As a completely self taught artist, Rayford drew inspiration from the wide range of beautiful and historic architecture in this ancient city and soon learned to recognise such features in other cities around the UK.  Rayfords quirky paintings show an irresistably fun and appealing side to every scene and by excluding people from his paintings he has found a way to share with us his love of architecture both old and new!
