Artist Abbie Hulson At The Acorn Gallery, Pocklington

Born in North Wales in 1987 most of Abbies childhood was spent with her grandparents who saw the importance of immersing her in nature and to really examine the fine detail and make-up of the surroundings and of its inhabitants, which she has been and continue to be heavily influenced and guided by such experiences and interactions. 

Abbie spent 3 years studying animation at University of Sunderland gaining a BA (hons) in Animation which aided her greatly in finding expression and true essence in her studies be it wildlife or landscape. 

Before that Abbie spent 4 years studying art at Yale College, Wrexham, experimenting with various techniques, different art forms and media.  

Abbie is continuously seeking new ways and challenges to further her discipline, like all artists and draftsmen there has to be some element of self teaching, since a small child spending most days, hours upon hours sitting and drawing to better her skills. 

Abbies main focus is to enhance quality of work through technical ability and searching for harmonious and opposing hues practising colour theory to maximise texture, balance and dimension within each piece.   

Recently Abbie became a member of the North Wales Society of Fine Art and she has been exhibiting throughout Wales including North Wales Open in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018, The Harbour Gallery, Conwy 2018, The Oriel Tonnau, Pwllheli 2018,  Tan yr Hall Gallery 2018 - 2019 and  Artworks2, Betws y Coed 2021.
