Ali Kippax, a talented contemporary abstract landscape artist, based in Kelsall, Cheshire, Ali’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in the landscapes of her upbringing on The Wirral. With the stunning Dee and Mersey rivers nearby and the rugged beauty of North Wales within reach, these places have been, and continue to be, a wellspring of inspiration for her work.

Ali’s love for the natural world also takes her to the dramatic coastline of north Cornwall, a place that has played a significant role in shaping her creative process over the years. Reflecting on her artistic background, she shares: "I graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art from Bristol, where I had the privilege of studying under the renowned artist Paul Feiler."

After three decades of balancing a career in art education with her personal artistic growth, Ali made the bold decision to focus exclusively on her own work. "My paintings explore the elemental relationship between land, sea, and sky," she explains. "These visual experiences fuel the energetic mark-making, gestural brushstrokes, and rich textures in my work, capturing the emotional response I feel in these environments."

As a plein air artist, Ali thrives on the immediacy of painting outdoors, where she connects with the landscape in real time. Whether working on canvas or paper, she finds that being in the moment allows her to truly engage with her surroundings, resulting in artwork that’s filled with life, movement, and emotion.
