A Few Words From Alex:-
When I was painting The Boys Are Back in Town, the Thin Lizzie song of the same name kept going through my head and, although the characters seem to represent the 1930s more than the 1970s, there is the same style, swagger and excitement of youth.
The Boys Are Back In Town is set in Glasgow with Hielan' Man's Umbrella in the background - a mighty railway bridge across Argyle Street where Highlanders coming to Glasgow would traditionally meet.
