TIM SAYS:
My dad was a huge fan of the big band era - Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella and the rest. Now, as I tire of listening to the music of my own youth, and find little to interest me in the sounds of today, I find myself turning into my father!
People talk of the mid-twentieth century as 'a more innocent time'. Me? I'm not so sure about that!
