L.A. Girl Monroe (Premium Deluxe) (Original Variation 1/10) is a striking mixed-media tribute to Hollywood glamour and cultural iconography.
Etched and hand-painted onto 12mm maple-veneered board, the work combines wood stain, spray paint and lacquer to create depth, texture and a sense of timeless allure.
The layered background incorporates lyrics from “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” subtly woven into the composition to echo themes of fame, desire and spectacle.
The piece is presented in one of the artist’s bespoke, hand-crafted Feature Frames, made entirely from scratch and embellished with diamond motifs and archival images of Monroe set into each corner. Measuring 86 × 86 cm (99 × 99 cm framed), this Premium Deluxe edition stands as a bold statement piece that merges fine art, craftsmanship and pop-culture mythology.
This is an Original Variation which is one of a series of 10 using the same image. Each one is an Original in its own right as it is created and painted from scratch and is not a print.
"I create the image digitally using a variety of techniques such as drawing with a tablet, image manipulation and collage. I engrave the image onto 12mm maple veneered board to give a 3D reference image which I develop by sketching in details. Only then can each piece be hand painted by building up many layers of wood stains and lacquer.
Each piece with its bespoke wooden frame has been created in its entirety from scratch. All of my work and frames are signed and thumb printed"
