Bold, cinematic and packed with attitude, Kill Bill is a spectacular Premium Deluxe Original Variation by Rob Bishop celebrating Quentin Tarantino’s cult martial-arts epic.

Uma Thurman’s iconic Bride dominates the composition, katana drawn and unmistakable in her vivid yellow suit. Around her, Bishop builds a dramatic montage of characters and imagery from the Kill Bill films, creating a piece that rewards a closer look with detail after detail.

The largely monochrome palette makes those flashes of Tarantino yellow and blood red leap from the artwork, while graffiti-style marks, splashes and layered imagery give it the raw energy of a movie poster reimagined as contemporary art.

Even the presentation becomes part of the artwork. The highly detailed bespoke frame, emblazoned with KILL BILL and crossed by slashes of red, extends the imagery beyond the picture itself and gives this Premium Deluxe piece tremendous presence.

This is an Original Variation which is one of a series of 10 using the same image. Each one is an Original in its own right as it is created and painted from scratch and is not a print. 

"I create the image digitally using a variety of techniques such as drawing with a tablet, image manipulation and collage. I engrave the image onto 12mm maple veneered board to give a 3D reference image which I develop by sketching in details. Only then can each piece be hand painted by building up many layers of wood stains and lacquer.

Each piece with its bespoke wooden frame has been created in its entirety from scratch. All of my work and frames are signed and thumb printed"
