Colours by Paul Southwell

A celebration of British style, iconic guitar design and extraordinary metalworking craftsmanship!

Colours is a striking handmade metal guitar sculpture by Paul Southwell, inspired by the legendary Gibson Les Paul and brought to life with a bold Union Jack design.

But there's much more to this sculpture than its patriotic good looks!

Rather than simply applying colour to the metal, Paul has used a fascinating technique known as heat tempering. By carefully heating selected areas of the guitar, he creates beautiful variations in the metal's natural colouring, introducing subtle iridescent tones that shift and shimmer as the light changes.

The Union Jack theme extends across both the guitar body and headstock, giving this distinctive piece of contemporary art an unmistakably British personality.

Turn your attention to the back and you'll discover another thoughtful detail. Paul has incorporated a wooden panel into the guitar body, gently scorching its surface to enhance the natural grain. The warmth and texture of the wood provide a wonderful contrast to the metalwork, helping the intricate design on the front really stand out.

It's this combination of materials, techniques and imagination that makes Paul's sculptures so fascinating. Every element has been carefully considered, creating an artwork that's as interesting to explore up close as it is impressive from across the room.

Supplied with its own display stand, Colours can also be wall-mounted using a suitable bracket. The sculpture is signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Perfect for guitar enthusiasts, lovers of British design and collectors of unusual contemporary sculpture, Colours would make a fabulous statement piece in a living room, music room or stylish home office.
