TIM SAYS:
Whilst doing the research for 'Paparazzi' a few months ago, I accumulated a lot of reference material on Art Deco buildings, which I love.
I was keen to pursue the theme in a different setting and, surprise surprise, my mind once again turned to Edward Hopper - this time his 1940 painting 'Gas', which depicts a man attending to a row of petrol pumps on a small, rural forecourt.
Once my idea took shape, the combination of this beautiful little Deco building and the 1940s Chevys conjured up images of the famous old Route 66. Cedar Ridge could be a small town in the mid-west, somewhere along that road.
