A woman in a delicate blush-pink dress moves through a haze of wildflowers, surrounded by a dreamy palette of powder blue, lavender, soft pink and muted green. Her face is turned away, leaving the moment wonderfully open to interpretation and allowing the viewer to become part of the story.

Tony’s combination of expressive brushwork and gentle detail gives the piece an almost dreamlike quality. Areas of the figure emerge beautifully from the looser, abstract surroundings, while scattered touches of colour across the foreground suggest a meadow filled with tiny flowers.

There’s a lovely sense of movement too — the gathered fabric of her dress, her softly falling hair and the impressionistic landscape all seem to capture a fleeting moment rather than a posed scene.
