Each day in South Africa, captive bred or tame lions are killed in canned hunts and hundreds more are slaughtered every year for the lion bone trade to Asia.
BLOOD LIONS exposes the exploitation related to these horrific practices which are also associated with wildlife tourism, including cub petting and walking with lions.
The Blood Lions story is a compelling plea call to have these practices stopped.
Currently, between 8- 10 000 predators are held in small enclosures and there are almost 300 of these captive predator facilities across the country.
Despite them making claims of conservation, it is commonly accepted by most leading wildlife and scientific authorities around the world, that this industry has nothing at all to do with conservation.
In most cases these places are simply commercial operations, breeding and exploiting these incredible animals for a range of profitable activities, including the extremely lucrative activity of cub petting and walking with lions.
